We know in-home cardio sessions can be great for flexibility in case there it is raining for snowing outside. That is why we have spent long hours of research to bring you the best foldable treadmills of 2021. Have a look!

We’ve evaluated each treadmill based on below four criteria:

  1. Weight limits
  2. Overall Structure and design
  3. Value (cost vs. quality)
  4. Durability

If you know what you’re looking for already glace at our handy-dandy table of contents:

#1 NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill (Best Overall)

When assessing our options for a treadmill, space, stability, and cost are important to consider. Foldable treadmills are on par or even better than the conventional treadmills in all three aspects.

The NordicTrack T 6.5S treadmill is equipped with a 2.6 HP continuous duty motor, which provides a weight capacity of approximately 300 pounds.

The revolutionary Space-Saver design and Easy-Lift technology provide a superior running experience.

It is 20″ width and 55″ length which gives you plenty of space for long strides while listening to Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly Now.” -Please tell me I’m not the only one.

Also, it gives you the inclination limit of 10% with the top speed of 10 mph. Translation: You can get all of the HIIT burst in you can want.

The 5″ LED-backlit display is ok, but some feel that, for this model, it should have been larger. That being said, it does provide you with an innovative track view, and there is a one-touch quick start key for quick use. As well as a heart rate monitor from the CardioGrip sensors.

Other features include an MP3 compatible music port with two speakers- in case you are not a fan of AirPods. Can you believe it? There are 20 built-in workout programs to choose from- this is almost double any other model. Note: to access even more workouts, unfortunately, you need an iFit subscription. But 20 should be plenty for most people.

Durability is not an issue with this one. There is a lifetime warranty on the frame, a 25-year warranty on the motor and a one year on additional parts.

One of the coolest parts of this treadmill is the Easy-Life Assist technology. The deck will recline on its own. Everything is done in one step, so you don’t have to do heavy-lifting (a big concern for older users).

The price range of this treadmill is very modest and is best in class if you are looking for space and durability.

What people are saying:

Most agree that this is the complete package. Frequent comments from reviews include  “This thing is almost perfect!”, “No shaking. Sturdy. Quality product.” However, some customers have stated that they had issues such as the motor noise and the smaller console.

What we Like (Pros) What we don’t like (Cons)
FlexSelect Cushioning Motor noise
Space saver features Small console
Easy Assist folding
Cost-effective

Verdict: If you are at an intermediate or beginner level and are hungry for a good jogging/running machine that will push you to the limits, this is the complete package. If you are neither of those people, there are other treadmills that will better suit your needs in this article.

#2 XTERRA Fitness TR150 Folding Treadmill (Best Value)

At my home, where space is a non-negotiable factor, foldable treadmills really help to keep things uncluttered. You can place them in front of your window to get some fresh air, and then fold it up and bring the curtains down, like it was never there.

The XTERRA Fitness TR150 Folding Treadmill is, in our opinion, perfect for someone who mainly focuses on at-home exercises. With running belt dimensions of 50″ length and 16″ width, it provides enough space to loosen up and feel free. Also, this particular model is more economical as far as electrical use.

The height is only 51.5,” making it ideal space-saver. The total weight of this treadmill is around 108 pounds, and it can handle a max weight of up to 250 pounds.

The cushioning of the deck is quite soft which is good for people having issues with their knees and joints (Much better than running on concrete or pavement). And as long as you don’t plan on “Usain Bolting-it” you should be fine with the max speed of 10mph.

This folding treadmill has a rather classic 5″ easy-to-read LCD. It shows you all of your standard treadmill stats such as speed, time, distance, inclination, pulse, and calories burned. Heart monitoring sensors are also mounted on the two handlebars for your convenience.

There are 12 pre-set workout programs, designed to achieve a variety of fitness goals.

The console has enough space for keeping a tablet, book, and water bottles, but lacks the built-in luxuries such as speakers, USB charging points and cooling fans.

A lifetime warranty on the frame is included with this XTERRA Folding Treadmill. But there is only a 1-year motor warranty and 3-month warranty. We would have like to see a longer one.

What People are saying:

Customers have nice runs on this equipment. The ratings are relatively high. Some highlighted comments included: “Great Value and At Home Treadmill Experience!”,” Great product for the price!” Others raised issues about the lack of a backlight and set goal features in the console. There were scattered maintenance and installation issues, but that is common across all the treadmills nowadays.

What we Like (Pros) What we don’t Like (Cons)
Space savvy Primitive console
Soft deck Less of a parts/labor warranty
Low power consumption

Value: Check the Price on Amazon Here

Verdict: If you aren’t looking for all of the fancy features and just wanting to save space and get a powerful cardio session in, this is an excellent choice for you. Of course, if not,  simply keep scrolling.

#3 PUEEPDEE Treadmill Professional (People’s Choice)

This foldable treadmill is one of the most modern treadmills on the market. You can directly connect it to the iFitShow sports app to make your running experience more fun and easier. There is a version of the app on both the iOS and Android platforms.

The foldable design and wheel system make this treadmill very accommodative and space-friendly. There is also a special soft-drop system which ensures that you don’t damage your floors in the unfolding process.

Thankfully, this treadmill’s motor is surprisingly quiet, so you can definitely get into that deep-focus state. This “puppy” can get up to 14mph with a maximum weight capacity of up to 243 pounds. There are three levels of incline which is customizable for added resistance.

A heart rate monitor is included as a built-in feature of the handlebars, and you can choose from 12 pre-set training plans for your specific level/goals.

In addition, there is a safety key that ensures that you are protected in case of a sudden loss of control.

What People are saying:

Ratings are through the roof on this model- Which is very uncommon in treadmills. Customers are whole-heatedly complimenting the high quality and design. “Great for the price” was commonly stated by reviewers.

What we Like (Pros) What we don’t like (Cons)
App connectivity
Compact structure
Low Noise

Value: Check the price on Amazon Here

Verdict: If you are someone who likes to one-up the neighbors, and also enjoys app-connectivity and high-quality design, look no further. You are in for a treat.  As a whole, this is a high-quality, long-lasting, foldable treadmill.

#4 ProForm 705 CST Treadmill (Best for Runners)

A seasoned runner has different needs than a normal person when it comes to a residential treadmill.

Speed and motor longevity is a requirement that this model upholds. It has a 2.75HP motor and belt dimension of 20″x 60″ it gives you enough power and space to go for those long and fast extended strides. And has a speed range of up to 12mph and inclination of 12%.

This will work you as hard as you need it to in order to push you to your limits and keep you improving.

Runners have a bad rep for not taking care of their joints. Thankfully the ProShox cushioning this model has will take extra care of your ankles, knees, and hips joints for those long marathon-training sessions.

The designers of the ProForm specifically added 22 in-built workout programs for you to push yourself to the limits. It is also iFit enabled, but some people found the workout add-on feature annoying.

It has a console with 5″ display indicating important features like calories, speed, time and pulse (measured by heart rate sensors placed at the grips of the handlebars).

One unique feature is that the treadmill can sync with Google maps, allowing you to choose locations to hike or walk. A feature that thought-driven, imaginative runners may enjoy.

This console has the luxuries of two speakers, an auxiliary port, a tablet-holder, and two-speed fans.

What People are saying:

Customers are satisfied with the performance of this treadmill. Most express things like “Suits My Needs Perfectly” “A terrific value for the money!” But others complained about pesky add-ons and the heart rate sensor being inaccurate.

What we Like (Pros) What we don’t like (Cons)
Long belt stride Heartbeat sensor issues
High-speed range Annoying add-ons and subscriptions
Better inclination
Large number of in-built workout programs

Value: Check the price on Amazon Here

Verdict: If you are a runner who needs to keep up with your training, even when there is a foot of snow on the ground, this is your best option. If you are more passive about running and don’t do it as frequently, there are better options for you in this article.

#5 Merax L510C Treadmill Machine (Best for Budget)

This Foldable Treadmill has almost all of the basic features the others include but in addition it can help your wallet from losing too much weight (if you know what I mean).

It is a space saver and easy to move in and around your home. It only weighs 98 pounds and has dimensions of 60″x27″x46″. There is a decent surface of 16″ width and 44″ length, which can support up 240 pounds of weight.

It is worth noting that the motor can only accelerate to 7.5mph, but a normal person will probably not need more than that to get a satisfying workout in.

The Merax 1.5HP Folding Electric Treadmill comes with a nice suspension system for easier joints movement. And it is worth noting that there is a manually adjustable inclination level for those that like a challenge.

Industry-standard dual handgrip heart rate monitoring sensors are included, as well as a 5″ LCD display console. The screen shows you readings such as speed, distance covered, Calories blazed, time, of course, your heart rate. There are also 12 in-built workout programs.

The only thing we didn’t like about this model is the fact that it only comes with a 1-year frame and motor warranty. It is a little less than the going competitors’ rates.

What People are saying:

Customers like the Merax Treadmill. Most agree that it is a lot more sophisticated than other models in this price range. Others state that it is good for the money and the old clique “you get what you pay for.” It is only fair to note that a few people found that they had stability/durability issues when the treadmill runs at high speed.

What we Like (Pros) What we don’t like (Cons)
Low cost Issues on constant high speed
Compact structure 1-year warranty
Reasonable features

Value: Check the Price on Amazon Here

Verdict: If your heart says yes, but your wallet says maybe, this treadmill is reasonable enough to do the job. You save you time and space. We just wouldn’t recommend running too fast for too long on this particular model.

Honorable Mention:

The Goplus 800W Folding Treadmill Electric Motorized Power Fitness Running Machine was a close contender, but we found the features too primitive and the capacities much less appealing than the Merax treadmill.
